As an Ecological Gardener, you will be maintaining landscapes with a team of 3-4 Ecological/Edible Gardeners, utilizing land care practices and principles based on NOFA Organic Landcare Program guidelines. This position also requires independent work. An Ecological Gardener's career is filled with growth, rewarding physical and abstract work through team-oriented goals. Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Works under direct supervision of Crew Leaders and Operations Manager
Works under Ecological Field Supervisor in Meadows and Invasive reclamation projects
Maintain residential vegetable beds, orchards, and meadows in accordance with each season
Assist lead Edible Gardening Specialist with installation and maintenance of edible gardens
Assist Arborist with pruning and management of orchards
Remove invasive weeds in meadows and monitor meadows under Crew Leader supervision
Maintain organization and cleanliness in vehicle, trailer, yard
Complete daily reports of labor time, materials used.
Thinks creatively to solve problems in the field as they arise
Enforces workplace rules, safety guidelines, and RP Marzilli’s and Botanica’s standards
General Requirements
Valid U.S. Driver's License
1-3 years' experience in the field in an organic farming or ecological land care role,; or landscape experience with similar practices
High level of professionalism and ability to help build and maintain the Botanica Land Care vision
Experience driving a pick-up truck
Horticulture and Plant ID Proficiency
Preferred But Not Required:
NOFA (AOLCP) accreditation or ability to obtain within 1-2 years
Pesticide Applicator's License or ability to obtain within 1 year
Degree in relevant field
