Position Summary
The Landscape Construction Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing multiple large-scale residential projects, from providing estimation support to project completion. The role requires exceeding client satisfaction, financial performance, schedule, and quality goals. The Landscape Construction Project Manager should have extensive experience in construction management, including managing job-site safety programs, field layout, blueprint reading, budgeting, scheduling, and subcontractor coordination. They must also possess strong leadership skills to mentor and train team members.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee multiple large-scale residential projects from estimation to completion

  • Ensure client satisfaction, financial performance, schedule adherence, and quality goals are met

  • Manage job-site safety programs to ensure a safe working environment

  • Conduct field layout and coordinate with subcontractors

  • Read blueprints and visualize efficient construction methods

  • Manage project budgets, scheduling, crew organization, and subcontractor coordination

  • Utilize creative construction means and methods to achieve desired results

  • Handle financial management of assigned projects including negotiation and management of project buyouts

  • Cultivate positive client relationships and address any concerns or issues

  • Provide leadership, mentoring, and training to Assistant Project Managers, Field Supervisors, Foremen, and Crew Leaders

Qualifications

Minimum of five years of relevant project management experience in landscape, site, or construction environments

  • Bachelor's Degree in Landscape Construction, Landscape Architecture, Construction Management, or a similar field, or equivalent experience

  • Demonstrated track record of successfully delivering construction projects

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Smartsheet, scheduling programs, and project management tools

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to explain complex construction concepts to stakeholders

  • Ambitious and dedicated to advancing the landscape profession

The Maintenance Branch Manager oversees all aspects of their assigned territory including accountability for the branch’s financial performance, operational efficiency, employee and client growth, retention, and satisfaction.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Management, training, and oversight of all Account Managers, Operations Manager, and Production Managers.

  • Collaboration with Sr. Vice President of Maintenance in acquiring new clientele and creating proposals.

  • Foster a culture amongst the Branch staff that’s maintains strong relationships with highly satisfied clients and employees to ensure longevity of each.

  • Participate in interviews with potential members of Branch staff at all levels to develop and hire best in class team.

  • P&L responsibility to ensure profitability of Branch and viability of all services.

  • Manage job costing meetings and procedures to ensure each Account Manager’s work is coming on time and meeting budgets and goals.

  • Work with the Branch’s sales team to estimate, write, deliver, and close proposals having to do with landscape upgrades or maintenance packages.

  • Collaboration with Sr. Vice President to drive upsell initiatives and campaigns amongst Branch’s Account Managers.

  • Work with the Branch Operations Manager to best forecast what types of sales need to be driven to maximize field labor.

  • Oversee all active collections for the Branch.

  • Work with the Branch Operations Manager to ensure all work is carried out with the highest level of accuracy and profitability while maintaining/ improving process and best practices.

  • Collaboration with Construction division throughout latter phases of projects to ensure a high close rate of construction to maintenance conversions and best possible experience for the client.

  • Regular communication with Branch staff regarding expectations of the experience RP Marzilli delivers to its clients, areas where the Branch is excelling, and areas where Branch needs to improve upon.

Requirements:

  • Associates or bachelor’s degree in Landscape field preferred but not required with acceptable experience and training to negate degree.

  • Valid Driver’s License required.

  • 5-8 years’ experience within the landscape industry as at least an Account or Production Manager.

  • Proven success rate managing clients and employees at a high level.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Ability to maintain strong relationships with highly satisfied clients to ensure longevity of client base.

  • Generate ideas, estimate, propose and sell value added enhancement projects to better improve the function and aesthetics of your clients’ properties

  • Work closely with Operations to coordinate a diverse mix of maintenance and enhancement work within your portfolio

  • Procure materials and supplies for your crews and clients as necessary

  • Responsible for financial management of portfolio including timely and accurate billings and collections

  • Complete, process and approve paperwork with high accuracy for crew time sheets, materials receipts, and subcontractor invoices

  • Quality control for all work in your assigned portfolio

  • Ensure smooth transition from construction to maintenance

General Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years experience with estate gardening and client interaction

  • Exceptional level of detail with a willingness to learn and blend with a division high on culture and team work

  • Customer service oriented and drive to maintain a portfolio of highly satisfied customers

  • Exceptionally high standard for safety

  • Strong written and oral communication

  • High level of professionalism and the ability to represent the RP Marzilli brand within the company and in the public eye

  • Computer proficient with experience in the Microsoft Office suite and ability to learn and utilize other programs as necessary

  • Work under the direction of a crew leader and with a dedicated team to achieve daily production goals

  • Assist with the installation and care of plant materials, grading, mulching, etc.

  • Ensure properties and sites are kept clean and tidy and free of plant debris

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • We are looking for candidates who are hard-working, enjoy working outdoors and are looking for a career in landscape

  • Willingness to work in all types of weather (heat, rain, cold)

  • Willingness to work some Saturdays as workload and weather during busiest times of year may dictate

  • Ability to stay motivated and work efficiently

  • More senior positions require experience and licensing to drive and operate a crew truck and landscape equipment
